Meet Your Head Coach

Hi, I'm Kian

I grew up in a farming family, which means I've been outside in every kind of weather since before I can remember. Mud, rain, frost, midsummer sun: none of it bothers me. So when I qualified as a personal trainer and looked around at the chain gyms with their fluorescent lights and identical layouts, the idea of building a career inside one didn't appeal. I wanted to bring training back to the kind of place I'm actually from.

That's what Rural Reps is. It lives at High Lodge Farm, just outside Abingdon: a field, a bit of woodland, a covered training area, and a coach who knows your name, your goals, and what you said last Tuesday about your knee. Classes are capped at ten. Personal training is genuinely personal. There's no microphone. I talk to you, not at you.

I'm determined and I'll push you, but I'm not interested in turning fitness into a punishment. Real life includes the occasional pint and the occasional takeaway, and a coach who pretends otherwise is selling you something fake. The clients who do best with me train hard and live well. Both, not either.

Right now Rural Reps is fitness classes, 1:1 personal training, and a Sunday morning 5K run club that meets in central Abingdon. There's more on the way as the studio grows, but the heart of it stays the same: small groups, real coaching, and a community that turns up. We're booking new members in now.
